At Kata class this afternoon I met 3 new Tora members who have moved recently to Tasmania and joined us.
There is another also who wasn't there today.
I hope their time at Tora with Sensei Steve is a rewarding one.
Welcome to you all.

Yes, the new people seemed very nice and accomplished (as you would expect) karateka.
Tora practices kata in the four directions prescribed by Sensei Kase: omote, ura, go and go ura. This is new for many karateka but Sensei Sarah and Sempai Vikram adapted to it with ease. Very inspiring!
The same is true of the advanced version of ippon kumite that Sensei Steve introduced to ease the transition fron ippon to juu ippon kumite.
Also, there are two new adult beginners in our ranks now. One of them is from Tae Kwon Do and is coming to terms with the difference between the two arts. Taking up karate in later life is a courageous thing to do I think and I wish them the best of luck and many years of injury free training. Gambatte!
